Operating lease:
A finance option ideally suited to customers wishing to finance specialised assets or assets that may be considered non-core to the operations of the business. The financier owns the asset and you use the asset for the agreed period.
- Protection against loss of value – the asset is owned by the financier and the resultant risk of loss of asset value remains with the financier.
- Cash flow enhancement – rentals are priced on a usage basis and normally account for a residual value that lowers the rental payment
- Structure flexible repayments – rental re-payments are carefully tailored to match your cash flow requirements
- Fixed or variable interest rates – introducing peace of mind in a uncertain interest rate environment
- Off balance sheet – these agreements may be considered as being off-balance sheet (check with your auditor about the accounting treatment.
- Tax advantages – varied and need to be discussed with you in greater detail.

Sale and cession (contract discounting) – a simplified form of securitisation enabling existing debit/credit exposures to be transferred from one party to another by “selling” the rights to the future instalment and rental receivables under an existing contract. This is an attractive finance option for companies (suppliers and manufacturers) carrying an existing leasing portfolio who wish to reduce their financial exposure to their lessees and /or to accelerate future profit locked into their existing portfolio of contracts.
